Where’s the Love? Five Prospects the Draft Community Is Sleeping On
Prospects Flying Under the Radar—and Why They Belong in the Spotlight
As we close out 2024 and gear up for conference play, the NBA draft community—ranging from major platforms to passionate fans—has been busy assembling mock drafts, big boards, and scouting reports for the 2025 NBA Draft.
Much of the buzz has centered on a talented freshman class expected to dominate the lottery, along with an impressive international group that could produce multiple first-round picks.
While I always develop my own rankings independent of external influence, I’ll admit that as a draft junkie, I can’t resist diving into the wealth of opinions out there. Whether it’s a teenager blogging from their bedroom or a seasoned analyst crafting rankings rooted in analytics, I genuinely enjoy exploring the different perspectives—be they heavily data-driven or more reliant on the eye test.
But one trend I’ve noticed is that certain players have been flying under the radar, overlooked by the consensus.
I’m higher on these five prospects than most, and I believe they deserve far more attention in the 2025 draft conversation.

When I think about under-the-radar prospects who deserve more love from the draft community, New Mexico junior point guard Donovan Dent is the first name that comes to mind. Dent caught my attention last year with a standout sophomore season, and what immediately jumped out to me was his phenomenal court vision. In my view, he’s one of the top five passers and playmakers in the country.
