Tyran Stokes Is My No. 1 Prospect. So What Could Stop Him From Going No. 1?
Stokes enters Kansas with all the tools to become the top pick in 2027, but there are still important questions NBA teams will need answered.
As I mentioned yesterday, one thing I’ve tried to become better at as an evaluator is being transparent about where I stand on prospects.
In yesterday’s article on Alijah Arenas, I admitted that I didn’t have a lot of answers. I had more questions than answers, and I’m comfortable saying that. I also understand that my opinions are going to change, probably multiple times throughout the season and ultimately before the 2027 NBA Draft.
But in this case, I’m putting my position on the table right now.
If you asked me today who I think is the best prospect in the 2027 NBA Draft class, my answer is Kansas freshman Tyran Stokes.
However, that doesn’t necessarily mean I’m 100 percent convinced he’ll be the No. 1 pick or the first name called by Adam Silver next June.
