Prospect Watch: NBA scouts weigh in on Bronny James and D.J. Wagner
Plus: NBA Draft Prospect of the Week
Like father, like son.
The basketball world has numerous notable father-child combos, as talent often runs in the bloodline.
Joe and Kobe Bryant. Mychal and Klay Thompson. Rick, Jon, and Brent Barry.
Dell, Stephen, and Seth Curry. Tim Hardaway Sr. and Tim Hardaway Jr..
Just to name a few.
Two of the most-hyped prospects in the 2024 NBA draft class are the sons of Dajuan Wagner and LeBron James, both former Cleveland Cavaliers lottery picks.
D.J. Wagner and Bronny James have a lot in common. Their fathers are arguably the two best high school basketball prodigies in the 2000s; the sons are McDonald's All-Americans originally projected as potential one-and-done 2024 lottery picks.
Unfortunately, the season has not gone as planned for either player. There's a real chance both could fall out of the first round and will have to decide between entering the draft or returning to school to boost their stock in what is expected to be a strong 2025 draft class.
