🎧Podcast: How Good Is the 2021 Draft?
John Hollinger and I dive into how the 2021 draft stacks up to past drafts + a look at late risers in the draft + we dive deeper in the upside vs. experience debate
Chad Ford and The Athletic's John Hollinger take a close look at the 2021 draft and compare it to prior NBA drafts.
In the second segment they take on late-rising prospects Cameron Thomas, Ziaire Williams, Day'Ron Sharpe, JT Thor, Joshua Primo, Trey Murphy III and Vrenz Bleijenbergh.
Then Chad and John discuss Corey Kispert, Davion Mitchell, Chris Duarte and Neemias Queta and the rise of older prospects into the lottery. Finally, John gives us his "Dillon Brooks" and "Paul Reed" draft sleepers.

I usually find John Hollinger very persuasive, but I think he is wrong about Trey Murphy. If a player is 1) tall and long; 2) can shoot; and 3) play defense, that player will be quite valuable. I get that Murphy isn't a shot creator, but then again guys like Danny Green and Trevor Ariza aren't exactly taking it to the rim, either. If the Rockets get Murphy at 23, I'd be ecstatic. He has a limited ceiling, but a quality 3&D player on a rookie contract is an attractive asset even for a non-contending team.
