NBA Trade Buzz — Misinformation, Plus NBA Prospects Who Are Shining in the Pre-Draft Process

The Hornets, Pacers, Spurs and other NBA teams are looking to make moves in the draft and on the trade market

The NBA Draft is officially one month away—29 days, to be exact.

As we get closer to June 22nd, trade rumors, draft buzz, and misinformation are plentiful on social media. 

I prefer to be responsible and make sure I’m on the right side of the rumor mill, so I lean toward the sources who I trust and have strong personal relationships with.

Here are a couple examples of misinformation that made the rounds on social media over the last few days.

I’ve been working on a vlogumentary covering my experiences as an independent draft analyst and have had contact with Brandon Miller’s agent and trainer while also filming GG Jackson over the past six weeks.

Brandon Miller

Last week ESPN's Jonathan Givony appeared on "The Lowe Post" with Zach Lowe and shared this about Brandon Miller: 

He's not in great shape right now, So I don't know how great his workout is going to be. His interviews have not been great, I've been told. Both publicly and privately with NBA teams."

Earlier this month, I planned to travel to Las Vegas to interview and film Brandon Miller and Max Lewis working out at Impact Basketball with legendary NBA skills trainer Joe Abunassar; however, an illness kept Miller grounded in Nashville. Once cleared, he remained in Nashville to train and attend a graduation ceremony. Eventually, I saw Miller at the NBA Combine in Chicago, where he was noticeably slimmer. 

Unfortunately for Miller, the most critical information about his illness was excluded, implying he was out of shape and a poor interviewer.

GG Jackson

In reference to his Pro Day at the NBA Combine, an ESPN article from Tuesday reported that GG Jackson "looked completely gassed only minutes into his workout, struggling to make shots for much of the session." 

Jackson's was one of four Pro Days I filmed at last week's Combine, and like Miller, Jackson was under the weather and dealing with Bronchitis which had plagued him when I filmed him while he was training in Dallas over the past couple of weeks.

While ESPN's reports aren't entirely false, I wanted to add context since I knew Miller and Jackson had previous illnesses before arriving in Chicago.
