NBA GMs and coaches often see NBA prospects differently.
For instance, I’ve heard two very divergent things about Cason Wallace, a guard who’s just completed his freshman season at Kentucky.
Some NBA scouts point out that Wallace is not the type of player that GMs tend to want to gamble on — especially if they can take a prospect with higher upside or better physical tools.
On the other hand, several scouts have noted that Wallace stands out as a potential favorite among NBA coaches — a player who is more polished and NBA-ready than his peers, with a more mature approach to the game.
