There hasn't been a hotter NBA prospect over the last six months than 6'7" Serbian point Nikola Topić. French prospects Alex Sarr, Zaccharie Risacher, Melvin Ajinça, and Tidjane Salaun have made strong impressions on NBA scouts with their play this summer and in the early stages of the 2023-24 season, but their ascensions up draft boards pale in comparison to Topić's meteoric rise.
I first started tracking Topić in 2022 at the Adidas Next Generation Tournament in Belgrade, Serbia, and labeled him as a player to remember in 2024 … for college programs looking for an immediate-impact point guard, that is, not as a potential first-round or lottery pick.
Although it's early, and college basketball and the G League have yet to tip off, Topić has established himself as one of the top prospects in the 2024 draft class with his early-season brilliance playing for Serbian talent factory Mega MIS.
Let’s take a closer look at this hot prospect.
