Hard to believe Lu Dort, who was a key starter for a Thunder playoff team, is only a potential rotation player.

Rightly or wrongly both the DARKO and LEBRON stats see him closer to a T5 than a T3 guy. Yes he started, but on a very bad team. I think it's fair to project him as a T3 guy someday, but the advanced analytics have him fairly far off of that (ie. 30 teams x 5 starters means a T3 guy should show up around the Top 150 players in the league. Dort was showing up in the low 200s on LEBRON and in the low 300s in DARKO. As for the GMs and scouts I spoke with they all saw his future more as key role player.

I didn't realize Jae'sean Tate was 25. What would he rank if eligible do you think? Tier 4 with Tier 3 potential?

Yeah, I was surprised too when I saw that. And yes, Tier 4 with Tier 3 potential.

As a Cavs fan Chad you pretty much nailed it!.L.Markk needs to be a 3 and D.Garland needs to be a 2 if Cavs want to make that playoff noise next year. I strongly believe that if the Cavs draft a tier 2 WING in 2022 and they stay patient in terms of development..that opportunistic trade to make us serious playoff contenders could come as early as next off season. Quick prediction...the Celtics...who i believe will be a 7 to 10 team this year in the East(= stuck in the middle..a not so good place to be) may have to make a player like J.Brown available next off season( A Great trade target for the CAVS!!!!) because they #1 Don't have the salary cap space in free agency,,#2 Will have a mid 1st round pick only and #3 really don't have any young players after Tatum and Brown that are strongly desired by other teams...R.Williams to me is more of a tier 4 player. This is the type of player...J.Brown that fits my bill as future opportunistic trade target....What do you think of that possibility materializing?

I agree with you that the Cavs are a strong wing away ... I think they hope that Okuro, but I'm not confident. But let's see. DeAndre Hunter was awful as a rookie and came back strong in his sophomore season. As for the Celtics ... who are they trading Jalen Brown for? I don't think it will be young players. I think the Celtics are trying to be a contender.

They missed by one point. Here's how they graded out:

JT Thor | 19 | T5

LaMelo Ball | 20 | T2

Vernon Carey Jr. | 20 | T5

Kai Jones | 20 | T5

James Bouknight | 21 | T4

PJ Washington | 23 | T3

Miles Bridges | 23 | T4

Jalen McDaniels | 23 | T5

Agree with Derek. Chad, you are way low on the Hornets.

Miles is the starter for sure going forward and possible PJ will be the starting center judging by Borrego comments on media day. McDaniels and Kai are for sure rotational player (this should be a no brainer when you look at our center depth)

This is fair. I based this off of the opinions of scouts and GMs as well as advanced statistics. So someone could be technically a rotation player but if they were too inefficient (see several Thunder players) they may stilll have gotten a Tier 5 designation. You can move the players around in the Tiers and add up their scores differently and see where they land. But at the most you are talking about a maybe 3 point maybe 4 point difference?

Sorry I’m just to clear this point up, I am not implying McDaniels is a going to get center minutes but between Kai,Vernon McDaniels- 2 out of the 3 will be rotational players for sure.

Did I miscount? Looks like Atlanta only has 27 points.

It was a typo. Huerter should've been listed as Tier 3. We've corrected it.
