Cheikh Niang showed intriguing flashes of his upside at the FIBA U18 EuroBasket, averaging 16.1 points, 3.6 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 2.3 stocks per game. His burst, athleticism and ability to create off the dribble were all on display, but so were questions about his efficiency.
Niang shot just 38% from the field, 25% from three and 70% from the foul line. The talent and physical tools are there, but entering the season, the question is whether Niang can become a more efficient and polished offensive player while maintaining the aggressiveness that makes him such an intriguing prospect.
