I saw the Geico Nationals happened recently - will the Big Board have some (not as a majority of content) coverage of the 2022 class as well?

Yes, we will be doing some 2022 stuff in the coming weeks highlighting some top prospects to watch and then, right after the 2021 NBA Draft, we will release our first 2022 Big Board the next day

why isnt cam thomas higher? he seems like the classic guard who goes 11-15 who is immediately a go to guy for his team. I know his percentages arnt great but he played on a team that relied on iso ball and tough shot making.

I think a couple of things work against him -- lacks elite size, streaky jumper, not an explosive athlete. There's still a real NBA path for a player like Thomas given his knack for scoring the basketball, but with those three knocks against you, it's a tougher uphill climb.

I agree that his physical limitations keep him from being a top 5-8 pick. But i get Tyler herro vibes watching him play. You put him on a team like the pelicans there is no way he’s not averaging 15 ppg on decent efficiency in year 1-2

Hell yeah Matthew Mayer at 28! Unless there are character flaws the public doesn't know about, he is a no-brainer as a versatile bench guy, scorer, high motor energizer that would compliment most any team. I like how you kept Cooper and Brown in the mid-first as well. Right now everyone is looking at production after the tournament, but you know damn well that NBA teams will be swinging for high ceiling guys in the mid-first round as always.

Mayer is polarizing for sure. But his skill set and his per minute numbers all translate really well. His lack of minutes is the issue, but seeing how loaded Baylor is, I don't think it was because he couldn't be on the floor longer. As for Cooper and Brown, that's the thinking for sure. Upside rises. Could see Ziaire Williams rise for the same reason.

Great point about Mayer. I was confused at times why he didn't play more, but then saw how he can be erratic at times and understood a bit more. He is so juiced up that it almost reminds me of Dennis Rodman's motor, how they both just fly around the court and try to get involved in everything--sometimes doing too much. But Mayer has solid footwork and is a real good shooter on top of his high energy level and not so much the elite rebounder that Rodman was obviously. VERY interested to see what happens with him! But not sure I would recommend going back to school to potentially uncover warts that will be nitpicked when he is the intriguing man of mystery right now haha! Totally agree about Ziaire WIlliams--if he has strong workout he could be right back in the late lottery.

Trey Murphy lll? He’s not in your next 35 either. Hmmph, go figure.

Chad, with all due respect but are you kidding me with this mock??? It reeks of Givony-like incompetence. I expect better from you.

Chad keeps saying there are five “tier one” prospects in this draft and I keep struggling to put that into context. How many were there in the last three drafts?

There weren't any Tier One prospects in last year's draft. LaMelo, Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman all ranked out as Tier Two. I didn't do rankings for the 2018 and 2019 drafts. Typically a draft has 1-3.

No Josh Christopher??!

He was a very tough cut. He'll be in the first 5 picks when I release the second part of Big Board 4.0, picks 31-60 next week. He for sure could end up cracking the first round.
