Alijah Arenas missed a significant portion of his freshman season after recovering from a car accident and was ultimately limited to just 14 games. In that small sample, Arenas showed glimpses of his offensive potential, averaging 14.1 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
However, those flashes came with significant inefficiency, as he shot just 34% from the field and 21% from three.
That leaves one of the biggest questions surrounding Arenas entering his sophomore season: How much of that inefficiency was the result of inactivity, rust and recovering from the accident, and how much was tied to shot selection and adjusting to the physicality of the Big Ten?
