Following Key Combine and Withdrawal Deadlines, Here's How I See the First Round Unfolding—If Every Pick Were Up to Me

We are 16 days away from the 2025 NBA Draft. And I’m getting excited to see all of the drama that’s expected to unfold on draft night. I’ve seen it all over social media, I’ve heard it from agents, and I’ve even seen it hinted at by reliable sources: this year’s draft night could be wild. There’s buzz that it might mirror the chaos of the 2025 NBA trade deadline, which featured plenty of movement, surprises, and unexpected twists.

So with that being said, I’m ready for the drama. I’ll be in attendance in Brooklyn to experience it live. And with that, here’s my updated first-round mock draft. This is just my personal opinion—how the draft would unfold if every decision were up to me. And in true Rafael fashion, there are going to be some big swings, some bold calls, and several players I’m higher or lower on than consensus. I give my brief breakdown of each prospect and explain how I think they could fit with each team.
